Growing Tips for Amaryllis
Amaryllis is also called Hippeasterum. Perrinial to grow in warm climate. Amaryllis can be planted from October to April for flowering from December to April. However this can be planted In any month.
Planting Method : Take a 6 to 10 inch pot for one bulb. Potting mix should ideally contain sand, compost,cocopeat ,garden soil 1:1:1:1 by volume. Select well drained pot. Earthen pot is best suited.
Alternatively plant them in plastic pot with good Drainage. Put pebbles in the bottom of pot . Add some soil and small amount of bone meal. Fill the pot with Soil Mix. Plant the bulb 2-4 inch deep. Bulb should not be sown shallow to avoid damage to bulb.Keep in full Sun. During flowering move the pot indoor / shady area.Amaryllis can be force to bloom indoor as well.
In Hot and dry Summers keep it indoor / partial shade , do not expose to Bright sun of dry summers.
